Session Description
This session explores culturally responsive approaches to supporting Indigenous families experiencing grief and loss in the perinatal period and beyond. Participants will deepen their understanding the role of culture and community in healing and how to engage with families in ways that honor Indigenous traditions, values, and lived experiences.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Recognize the impact of historical and intergenerational trauma on grief and loss in Indigenous communities
  2. Identify culturally responsive strategies to support Indigenous families through grief and loss
  3. Describe the role of cultural practices, community, and connection in the healing process
  4. Apply principles of cultural humility and respectful engagement in their work with Indigenous families
